Dry cleaning businesses using perchloroethylene (PCE or perc) are required to comply with the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) published in 40 CFR Part 63, Subpart M. The regulation was amended in 2006 and adopted by reference in the Georgia Rules for Air Quality Control, Chapter 391-3-1-.02(9)(b)(27) . All drycleaners using PCE are required to comply with the following air quality requirements:
- Submit an Initial Notification form to Georgia EPD within 30 days of business start up
- Submit a Notification of Compliance Status form to Georgia EPD by July 28, 2008 certifying compliance with air quality regulations
- Obtain an Air Quality Permit from Georgia EPD
