In keeping with the United States Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) 2006 standards relating to the Perchloroethylene Dry Cleaner National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants, the State of Georgia adopted the federal rules for all dry cleaners using Perchloroethylene in its Rules for for Air Quality Control (Chapter 391-3-1.-02(()(b)(27). A new Georgia permit was effective January 4, 2008, and replaces ALL existing Perchloroethylene dry cleaner permits. The Georgia regulations require the submission of a Notification of Compliance form by July 28, 2008. See below for additional information.

Georgia EPD and U.S. EPA Region 4 Require Submission of Compliance Notification Form by July 28, 2008
In addition, the new Georgia Perc Dry Cleaner Regulations require that all Georgia Dry Cleaners using percholorethylene submit a Notification of Compliance Status (NOCS) form to Georgia EPD and U.S. EPA Region 4 by July 28, 2008. Print out the form, complete, and mail to the addresses on the form. Remember to keep a copy for your records!
To ensure that your drycleaning facility is in compliance with the regulations, a Compliance Checklist has been developed to assist you. Please note that only the NOCS form must be submitted Georgia EPD and U.S. EPA by the July 28, 2008 deadline.

As part of the permit requirements, perc dry cleaners mus comlete all information shown in Section 7.8 of the permit as shown on pages five and six of the new permit. This information must be sent to DNR on or before July 28, 2008. Try to be patient when downloading the permit, as it may take a while.
